The Quality Engineer works on new and existing products of a complex nature, to assure continued compliance with customer and company specifications and requirements. Occasional travel to customer/supplier locations, including fact finding and quality surveys is required.
Quality Engineer Job Qualifications:
BS degree in technical discipline or equivalent training and experience. 1-3 years experience in a Quality capacity, preferably aerospace related. Knowledge of machining/metal working processes, molding, casting, plating, and general fabrication/assembly in a mid-to-high volume environment. Ability to perform failure and quality related analysis that relies on Quality and Manufacturing principles, including process management, statistical analysis, and human factors. Ability to physically inspect products using a wide range of inspection equipment, perform the limited fabrication and assembly (hands-on) of new and modified designs, clearly organize and document the inspection and/or assessment tasks, and to recommend enhancements which improve the quality and consistency of our products.
Quality Engineer Description:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; professional demeanor and the ability to successfully interface with all levels of personnel, both internally as well as with our customers/suppliers. Works with management, senior engineers, designers, technicians, assembly personnel, and others to optimize the quality of assigned products within cost, schedule and performance constraints; strong leadership skills and ability to leverage technical talents and personal skills in day-to-day interface with others. Knowledge of test methods, procedures, and equipment used to support the evaluation of our products, including mechanical, electrical and environmental testing. Expertise in concurrent engineering and Process Management principles, and ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
