Job Description

This role is ideal for individuals who feel called to serve youth, give back to the community, and make a Christ-centered impact. We are a faith based organization and teach bible lessons daily to youth. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Mentor to inspire and support young individuals in their personal growth and development. In this role, you will serve as a positive role model, providing guidance, encouragement, and mentorship to youth facing diverse challenges. Your energy and commitment will help foster a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents while gaining valuable experience in social work, education, and child welfare. Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with youth by offering consistent support, encouragement, and active listening. Develop individualized mentorship plans that promote personal growth, academic success, and social-emotional well-being. Facilitate engaging activities that enhance life skills such as conflict management, communication, and problem-solving. Collaborate with families, teachers, social workers, and community partners to coordinate resources and support services for youth. Monitor progress by documenting interactions, tracking goals, and providing feedback to program coordinators. Assist in managing behavioral health concerns by applying de-escalation techniques and behavioral management strategies. Promote inclusive environments by respecting diverse backgrounds and needs, including working with children with disabilities or special education requirements. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, or social work settings. Strong skills in mentoring, conflict management, and teaching effective communication techniques. Familiarity with special education needs and working with people with disabilities is preferred. Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cases while maintaining attention to detail.
