SUMMARY OF BASIC JOB FUNCTION

The Social Worker provides services in the dialysis and transplant units as limited to patients and their families to support and maximize the social functioning and adjustment of the patient in End Stage Renal Disease.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The Social Worker must have a master's degree in social work from a college or university that is accredited by the Council of Social Work Education. Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred. At least two years experience as a social worker in a health care setting preferred. Strong interviewing skills for patient evaluation and problem solving. Capable of communicating clearly and effectively with all types of physically and mentally disabled patients and their families.
