Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college-preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With approximately 850 students, the co-educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors have been accepted into 1,000+ universities and colleges yearly, and have garnered, on average, between $11-14 million in scholarships and grants. Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Campus Ministry, the Campus Ministry Coordinator serves as a young adult minister who supports the mission of the Office of Campus Ministry by accompanying students in their faith journey through the charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Rooted in the vision of Blessed Basil Moreau to educate both the mind and the heart, the Campus Ministry Coordinator helps foster a vibrant Catholic community where students encounter Christ, grow as servant leaders, and become people of hope. The Campus Ministry Coordinator serves as an active member of the Campus Ministry Team by assisting in the planning, preparation, and facilitation of retreats, liturgies, prayer experiences, service opportunities, and faith formation programs. The Campus Ministry Coordinator also mentors and trains student leaders, helping them develop the skills and confidence to serve as ministers within the school community. Primary Responsibilities Retreat Ministry Serve as an adult leader during school retreats. Assist in retreat planning, logistics, setup, and evaluation. Facilitate small group discussions and reflection experiences. Accompany students pastorally through prayer, conversation, and presence. Provide support to retreat teams before, during, and after retreats. Liturgical Ministry Assist in the planning and celebration of school liturgies and prayer services. Coordinate with student ministers, musicians, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, altar servers, and hospitality teams. Prepare worship spaces and liturgical materials. Help foster meaningful and engaging worship experiences for the school community. Mentor Campus Ministry student leaders and other student ministers. Assist in training students in leadership, prayer, hospitality, and liturgical ministries. Model Christian discipleship, servant leadership, and the Holy Cross values. Encourage students to take ownership of ministry initiatives. Daily Campus Ministry Operations Support the daily work of the Campus Ministry Office. Assist with event planning, communications, scheduling, and administrative tasks. Help maintain ministry resources, supplies, and sacred spaces. Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions. Be a welcoming presence for students seeking conversation, prayer, or support. Faith Formation and Community Life Build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni. Participate in the spiritual life of the school, including Masses, prayer services, and community events. Support service-learning initiatives and social justice programming. Promote the Holy Cross mission through joyful witness, hospitality, and compassionate accompaniment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred (Theology, Religious Studies, Education, Pastoral Ministry, or related field desirable). 1-3 years of experience in Catholic education or related experience. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Appreciation for the spirituality and educational vision of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students and faculty. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
