Job Title:
ASLA Coordinator
HOW THIS ROLE SUPPORTS THE MISSION
EOYDC's After School Leadership Academy (ASLA) provides resources for K-5 students to develop in the areas of academics, leadership, and character. Under the direction of the ASLA Manager, the ASLA Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the ASLA program. These duties include, but are not limited to, supporting the design of ASLA curriculum, implementing lesson plans, training and managing the ASLA Youth Leader interns, assessing program outcomes, and building/maintaining relationships with participants, families, and partner schools.
WHAT YOU WILL LEAD
This role will collaborate across the organization, sometimes as the lead of a project and sometimes as support. The person in this role will be responsible for ensuring the success of the following: Development and facilitation of lessons, activities, field trips, and events that are consistent with the mission of the program for students in grades K-5 Creation and adjustment of weekly program schedule in consideration of partner school schedules and organization-wide events ASLA student engagement Provide instruction based on engaging lesson plans developed to strengthen academic performance, enhance leadership skills, and develop character Supervise children and promote safety and respect amongst all participants Identify student academic and behavioral strengths and challenges, and work with the ASLA Manager and team to create appropriate plan to address their unique needs Work closely with students' teachers and families to promote academic success Provide students with direct support to promote emotional/psychological health and development Establish two way communication channels to facilitate ongoing engagement with participants' parents, guardians, and educators
WHO YOU WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH
This role is part of the ASLA Team, which works directly with EOYDC's K-5 students. Specifically, the following people will work directly with you to support your work:
Manager:
ASLA Manager Your manager will help guide your work and be an advocate for you amongst senior leadership. They will also, with input from the Chief Program Officer, help you set the objectives and vision for the various activities that you will lead.
Team Members:
ASLA Coaches and Youth Leaders The Youth Leaders will work directly with the students on a daily basis and will provide you support by leading or supporting the activities that you plan The Coaches will support you as an additional layer of accountability for the youth leaders and will also provide support for large events
WHO & WHAT YOU WILL SUPPORT

These are some of the ways you will support work that is led by others on the team: The ASLA Manager in: Identifying opportunities for program and process improvement Providing Intern and Staff support Provide supervision, guidance, resources, and feedback to ASLA Coaches and Youth Leaders Assist with the regular training ASLA Youth Leaders receiving in order to facilitate growth in the areas of classroom management, tutoring/instruction, leadership, early childhood development, parent engagement, and other key success factors Reinforce program policies and procedures through role modeling, coaching, and performance management Assessment & Reporting Maintain an individual development plan documenting goals, observations, learning outcomes, and progress for each student Maintain program attendance records and OFCY Provide insight to ASLA Manager on Program Monthly Reports Work with ASLA Manager to facilitate collection of program data for grant reporting purposes Additional duties as required EOYDC is a community-based organization, and that community spirit shows up in how we work with each other. There may be times that are considered "all hands on deck," and all team members are expected to jump in and support.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to: Participation in/completion of a specialized program and/or pursuing a certification or degree in education, child development, or a related field strongly preferred At least 3 years working directly with elementary school and/or middle school students--strong preference for at least one of those years being primary lead for classroom management and/or program coordination Demonstrated commitment to serving systematically marginalized communities with dignity and respect Highly organized with strong time-management Must be patient, flexible, responsible, and enjoy being with students Must be available to work between 25-30 hours per week, primarily on-site during regular program hours Non-profit experience preferred Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
COMPENSATION
This is a part-time, temporary hourly position (25-30 hours/week). The compensation is $23-$27 hourly (depending on experience) + excellent benefits including health (health plan 100% employer-paid), dental and retirement (starting 30% 403b match).
