Job Description

Make a difference supporting students and families as a contract social services specialist in an engaging school environment near Paramount, CA. Qualifications and Experience:
Valid licensure as a Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist in California Previous experience supporting students in educational, pediatric, or youth-serving settings Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interface with students, families, and staff Commitment to culturally competent, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care Ability to manage caseload, documentation, and confidential student records responsibly Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive school climates
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct counseling and support services to students individually and in groups Consult with teachers, school administrators, and families to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs Develop intervention plans and connect students and families to community resources Document services, maintain accurate records, and participate in team meetings Advocate for student well-being and refer to outside mental health professionals as needed Support school initiatives related to social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention
