Cal Poly Pomona Enterprise is seeking one part-time K-16 Parent and Family Engagement Liaison. The position is housed within Academic Engagement & Success, part of the Office of Student Success, and supports Cal Poly Pomona's work under the
UNITE-LA
East Los Angeles Subregional K-16 Collaborative grant. The position reports to the Director of Academic Engagement & First-Year Success. The Office of Student Success (OSS) provides institutional leadership, strategic direction, and coordination for a comprehensive portfolio of programs and services designed to support the academic success of Cal Poly Pomona's diverse student population. OSS advances university priorities related to access, equity, retention, and timely degree completion by aligning student success initiatives across the institution. OSS leads university-wide academic advising efforts and develops, implements, and continuously improves academic support and intervention strategies that promote student progression and achievement. It plays a central role in shaping policies, practices, and initiatives related to advising, student success, and academic engagement. In addition, OSS provides oversight and guidance on academic policies and student success matters, and manages student petitions related to academic standing, including general academic petitions, withdrawals, grade appeals, and academic renewal. Through a coordinated network of programs and services, OSS works collaboratively with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, and academic colleges to ensure a cohesive and student-centered experience. East Los Angeles Subregional K-16 Collaborative grant, the K-16 Parent and Family Engagement Liaison will lead bilingual outreach and engagement with parents, families, and community members. The liaison will plan and support community-based events and activities; deliver presentations in English and Spanish on college access, college-going pathways, and STEM majors and careers; connect families with relevant campus and community resources; and contribute to the grant's engagement, data collection, and evaluation efforts. The ideal candidate will be a confident bilingual presenter and relationship builder who is committed to college access, parent and family empowerment, culturally responsive community engagement, and equitable student outcomes. The position requires regular interaction with families and partners in community and school settings; occasional evening and weekend availability may be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Parent, Family, and Community Engagement — 30% Support planning, co-coordinate, and facilitate bilingual (English/Spanish) workshops, presentations, community events, campus visits, and other college-going activities for parents and families under the leadership of the Senior Coordinator, Early Academic Engagement. Deliver clear, culturally responsive presentations in English and Spanish on college access, college affordability, student support resources, and STEM majors and careers. Conduct proactive outreach and relationship-building with parents, families, schools, and community partners to promote participation in grant-supported programs and events. Provide individual and small-group guidance to help parents and families navigate college preparation, the application and transition process, and connections to campus resources. Represent Project CAMINOS and Academic Engagement & Success (AES) at school, district, campus, and community fairs, meetings, and activities, including occasional evening and weekend events. Develop, translate, adapt, and maintain accessible bilingual outreach materials, presentations, handouts, digital content, and family communications. Program Coordination and Grant Support — 15% Collaborate with Academic Engagement & Success colleagues, Project

districts, and other internal and external partners to carry out established grant goals and timelines. Co-coordinate event logistics with the Senior Coordinator, Early Academic Engagement and other team members, including schedules, locations, registration, participant communication, materials, supplies, and follow-up activities. Participate in program and partner meetings, communicate action items, and support implementation of family-engagement strategies and grant deliverables. Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing family and community feedback, identifying participation barriers, and recommending responsive outreach approaches. Data Collection and Evaluation — 5% Collect and maintain accurate activity, attendance, participant, outreach, referral, and follow-up records in accordance with program procedures and confidentiality requirements. Administer and track surveys or other feedback tools, and assist with grant and department reporting. Summarize participation, engagement, and feedback trends to help the team assess outcomes and improve future parent, family, and community activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university. Valid California driver's license and auto insurance.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Projects (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Canva Experience with first generation students and STEM support service programs Native Spanish speaker with exceptional bilingual skill in English and Spanish
