Full Job Description Purpose:
The Children's Ministry Director nurtures the spiritual growth of children 6th grade and younger through fun, engaging ministries where they experience the love of Christ, grow in their faith, friendships, and develop an active relationship with Jesus. We value partnering with parents as kids discover who God is and how He is at work in their lives. Children's Discipleship and Family Partnership
  • Lead engaging, interactive ministries for children, including Christ centered, Bible lessons, games, and creative application activities that encourage spiritual growth and meaningful friendships. These include Sunday morning children's programs, and Wednesday night Pathfinder ministry from 5:30pm-7pm for K-6th grade.
  • Engage children and families in worship and special events (Bible presentations, Communion, Christmas pageant, etc.).
  • Partner with Leadership and staff to implement family-engagement events (Prepare for Christmas, Family Easter Celebration, VBS, etc…).
  • Lead and teach both large and small groups of children.
  • Build relationships with parents and support faith formation at home.
  • Provide leadership for the day-to-day planning, implementation, and evaluation of children's ministry programs. Volunteer Leadership
  • Invite, train, encourage and empower adult volunteers, nursery staff and childcare providers to serve effectively in Children's Ministries.
  • Build a healthy volunteer culture where leaders feel valued, supported, and equipped for ministry.
  • Maintain volunteer schedules for teachers, rotation leaders and special event coverage.
  • Partner with the Director of Youth Ministry to build strong Student Leader engagement. Welcoming Environment
  • Welcome and connect new families.
  • Create and maintain safe, organized, and welcoming ministry spaces where children and families engage in building community and strong relationships.
  • Oversee child safety protocols and ensure compliance with TPC's child protection policies. Leadership and Team Collaboration
  • Contributes positively to a collaborative, healthy staff culture.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Family Ministries on vision, strategy, and major initiatives.
  • Invites and encourages TPC Preschool families into Children's Ministries events and the congregational life of TPC.
  • Coordinate childcare staff for Little Lambs on Sunday mornings and special events.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with parents, volunteers, staff, and ministry leaders.
  • Participate in Tuesday staff meetings and ministry team gatherings.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for children's faith formation and a sound knowledge of Scripture.
  • Experience teaching, leading children's ministry or Christian education.
  • Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Leads with integrity and humility.
  • Demonstrates initiative and follow-through, with a teachable and collaborative spirit.
  • Adaptable, energetic, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic ministry setting.
Educational & Physical Requirements:
  • College degree preferred.
  • Ability to move freely amongst obstacles, including bending, twisting, and lifting up to 25lbs.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
