DESCRIPTION:
Assist in the care of kindergarten through fifth grade students after school including developing and conducting activities. Ensure a safe, healthy, and secure environment for children. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the classroom.
SALARY:
$15.16 per hour (minimum wage), approximately 12 hours per week 3:00-6:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday on the 9-month work calendar.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a School District 27J High School Student. Must be at least 16 years of age.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the supervision of school age children between the ages of 5 years and 13 years of age. Assist in the supervision of children and help implement prepared materials/activities for daily small group and large group activities in a child care environment which may include field trips. Help ensure the safety and security of children. Help prepare instructional materials for daily activities. Help prepare and provide nutritional snacks. Read books to the class daily. Clean and maintain the safety of the classroom. Assist with craft projects. Help supervise and organize games for the children.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Experience working with children preferred.
