We welcome all that share those values to apply. The Town of Castle Rock has an excellent opportunity for a part time Teen Advisory Group Coordinator in our Parks and Recreation department. This position plans and implements programs and meetings for the Teen Advisory Group. The Teen Advisory Group Coordinator leads and drives participants on field trips, monitors meetings and assists in planning for the teen population. They will perform duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans and coordinates Teen Advisory Group meetings, programs and activities Plans field trips and excursions; ensures proper payment is made for trips and activities. Leads participants on activities. Provides transportation for participants by driving a 15-passenger van Provides guidance to members of the Teen Advisory Group Ensures safety practices and administers First Aid and CPR when needed Communicates in person and via email with parents and caregivers regarding participants. Responds to customer inquiries Collects payments for activity participation Coordinates Teen Advisory Group meeting schedule. Communicates via email/phone Orders and purchases supplies Works with school officials in marketing program and ensuring participation Conducts interviews for and selects Teen Advisory Group members Coordinates with appropriate staff and Town personnel for Teen Advisory Group assistance with special events and programs
Minimum Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:
6 (Six) months to 1 (One) year experience in working with youth population Licenses and/or
Certifications Required:
CPR and First Aid certifications required; or ability to attain within 30 days of hire A valid Colorado driver's license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of principals and practices in working with youth population Skill in supervising and instructing others Skill in both written and oral communications for effective expression and clarity Skill in interacting with participants and their parents/guardians Skill in performing CPR and first aid Ability to address participants and parents/guardians with tact and courtesy Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with established Town policies and procedures Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, participants, and parents/guardians Must satisfactorily complete a driving record check and criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
