Commerce City, CO Job Description A school district in Commerce City, Colorado is seeking a qualified School Social Worker for a full‑time, school‑based contract . This position serves K-12 students and focuses on supporting students' social‑emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs to promote academic success and overall well‑being. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling to support student social‑emotional and behavioral needs Conduct social, emotional, and behavioral assessments as appropriate Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS, and multidisciplinary team meetings Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to support student success Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing social or emotional challenges Connect students and families with school and community resources Assist with attendance improvement, behavior support, and student engagement initiatives Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state, district, and federal guidelines Qualifications Active Colorado Special Services Provider License with School Social Worker endorsement required Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates Education Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field Experience Previous school‑based social work experience preferred Experience supporting students with social‑emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs preferred New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply Skills Strong counseling, crisis intervention, and case management skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams Strong organizational and documentation skills Knowledge of school‑based intervention and support strategies Commitment to supporting diverse student populations Work Hours Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM Approximately 37-40 hours per week Compensation & Benefits This contract position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including: Weekly pay Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and credentials Medical, dental, and vision insurance options 401(k) retirement plan options Ongoing clinical and administrative support throughout the assignment Professional development and continuing education resources Opportunity for contract renewal or extension Housing and travel assistance for eligible candidates Equal Opportunity Employment All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
