Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a School Social Worker in the vibrant community near West Hartford, CT. With two immediate openings for the upcoming school year, these roles offer the chance to make an impact while working alongside dedicated educators and staff.
Position Details:
Both roles are full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and are onsite within school settings. The first opening is set to begin August 24, 2026, serving a high school caseload for a period of 4-6 weeks to cover a staff member's leave. The second position will work with elementary students, with assignment dates to be finalized as additional staffing needs arise.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active licensure/certification in Connecticut DPH and CT (071) is required. Prior school-based social work experience is essential. Comfort with short-term, leave coverage assignments. Ability to support and advocate for students from diverse backgrounds. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Must be available for a Zoom interview.

Provide direct counseling and support services to students. Promote positive behavioral interventions and student well-being. Engage with families, educators, and community partners to ensure holistic support. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and document interventions.
