Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students and families as a skilled school social worker for a contract opportunity near West Hartford, CT. Serving onsite from October 21, 2026, through January 21, 2027, this position offers a unique chance to use your talents in a school environment, collaborating closely with educational professionals to foster student well-being. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing social, emotional, and behavioral support across school settings. This assignment is 35 hours per week, providing you with a balanced schedule while making a meaningful difference every day.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Connecticut Social Worker (SW) license School Social Worker endorsement (#071) required Previous experience working within a school environment preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff Flexibility and adaptability in diverse educational settings
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct support and counseling to students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs Develop and implement intervention strategies in partnership with teachers, families, and administrators Evaluate student progress and provide recommendations regarding educational plans Serve as an advocate and resource for students and their families Maintain thorough documentation as per school and state guidelines Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
