School Age Staff Westport Weston Family YMCA Westport, CT Job Details Part-time 16 hours ago Qualifications Employee relationship building Child safety supervision Student safety monitoring First aid protocols Full Job Description Position Summary Under the direction of the Director, the Teacher will supervise and effectively lead students in a variety of activities. Teachers will provide a safe and nurturing environment for campers; will be actively involved in all School Age Child Care (SACC) activities and will maintain a positive attitude at all times. Teachers will represent the YMCA positively to the students and families. In addition to normal weekday hours, School age staff must be available to work a minimum of 13 vacation camp days that occur during the year when school is not in session. Essential Functions 1. Supervises a group of children. 2. Plans and implements program activities which are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values. 3. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. 4. Attends staff meetings and trainings. 5. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies. 6. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. 7. Ensures that administrative functions are performed including attendance, incident/accident reports, parent communication and medication appointments. 8. Guide and provide assistance to other SACC staff working within the program. Work with the Director to ensure program and staffing quality. 9. Performs other duties as assigned
