Job Description

Job Overview Community Church of DeBary is seeking a part-time Children's Ministry Coordinator to lead our Children's Ministry and Kids Ministry programs for children from newborn through fifth grade. This position is ideal for an experienced children's ministry leader with a background in church ministry, Christian education, childcare, volunteer leadership, or family ministry. Responsibilities Lead and oversee Children's Ministry for children from newborn through fifth grade, including Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary environments. Recruit, schedule, train, encourage, and develop a dependable team of Children's Ministry volunteers. Prepare and coordinate Sunday morning classrooms, curriculum, technology, supplies, check-in areas, and volunteer coverage. Select and implement biblically sound, age-appropriate curriculum in partnership with the Pastor. Create safe, welcoming, engaging environments where children can grow in their faith and families feel supported. Maintain child-safety standards, including background screenings, child-protection training, secure check-in/check-out, classroom ratios, sanitation, and emergency procedures. Welcome and build relationships with children and families, communicate regularly with parents, and respond to questions or concerns with care. Provide families with resources that encourage children's spiritual growth at home. Maintain volunteer schedules, attendance and training records, ministry communications, calendars, supplies, and ministry software. Coordinate and help lead special children's and family ministry events, including the Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat, Vacation Bible School, and other seasonal activities. Manage the approved Children's Ministry budget, purchases, and expense records responsibly. Work closely with the Pastor and church staff to establish ministry goals, evaluate effectiveness, and support the overall mission of Community Church of DeBary. Skills Proven experience working with children in religious or educational settings; prior church or faith-based childcare experience is highly preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate volunteers and coordinate team efforts effectively. Excellent communication skills for engaging children, parents, volunteers, and church staff clearly and compassionately. Ability to plan events efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Demonstrated commitment to community service, mission work, or nonprofit faith-based organizations. Compassionate mentoring skills combined with an understanding of social work principles related to child development. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
