42 / hour Summary Join our Trauma Services team and play a vital role in supporting patients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives! As a Brief Intervention Social Worker you will conducts drug and alcohol screening assessments and provides brief interventions to inpatient trauma patients for the Trauma Services Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) program. Conduct follow up therapeutic interventions as needed for those who have risky drinking and drug use behavior, provide resources and coordinate referrals to treatment for patients who screen in the risky behavior category. Maintain patient records, assist in creating and implementing a follow up plan for patients who screen positive for risky drinking behavior. Responsible for keeping up to date with resources, building and maintaining partnerships with area treatment programs and resources. Will provide educational handouts for screened patients and discharged patients follow up for additional support and resources. Works closely with the physicians and their staff to help meet the needs of trauma patients served and are viewed as an integral member of the healthcare team. Per the Florida DOH and American College of Surgeons requires SBIRT(Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) programs for all Level I and II Trauma Centers with mandated monthly reporting and audits. Will also provide Acute Stress and Post Traumatic Stress, screenings and resources to inpatient and outpatient trauma patients who meet criteria. Maintain the tracking log for trauma patients for reporting and evaluation purposes monthly basis. Reports to the Director of Trauma Support Services.
Requirements Education:
Masters degree in social work required.
Experience:
1-year social work experience in medical or healthcare setting preferred.
Certification:
N/A License:
Valid Florida License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) required.

Communication and interpersonal skills. Effective coping mechanisms. General computer skills and ability to effectively multi-task responsibilities.
