Job Description

Lighthouse Learning Microschool & Homeschool Hybrid is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Billing & Family Accounts Coordinator to support our school's billing, payment, and student funding processes. This is a part-time position averaging 10-20 hours per week . The ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, families, and multiple accounts while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Responsibilities Manage and track student billing and family account balances Accept, record, and track parent payments Communicate professionally with parents regarding balances, payments, invoices, and account questions Assist families with Step Up For Students funding/payment processes Track Step Up For Students payments, funding status, and outstanding items Follow up with families regarding missing or incomplete payment information Maintain accurate billing records using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets Create and update spreadsheets, payment trackers, and account reports Reconcile payments and identify discrepancies Maintain organized documentation for student accounts Work closely with school leadership regarding outstanding balances and billing issues Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and financial information Qualifications Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Comfortable working with numbers and financial records Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional and friendly when communicating with parents Ability to manage multiple accounts and follow up consistently Comfortable learning new software and online payment systems Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Experience with school billing, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, Step Up For Students, QuickBooks, or education funding programs is preferred but not required.
Schedule & Compensation Pay:
$20.00 per hour

Approximately 10-20 hours per week
Position:
Part-Time We are looking for someone who is organized, accurate, responsive, and proactive . This position plays an important role in ensuring our families' accounts are accurate and that payments and scholarship funding are processed in a timely manner.
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week

This position is only 10-20 hours per week. What does your availability look like, and are you comfortable consistently working within that range?" Let's say we have 75 students and I need to know who has paid, who has Step Up funding pending, who has a balance, and who needs follow-up. How would you organize that?" This is one of my favorite questions for this position. You want to hear a logical system: student, amount due, funding source, invoice date, amount received, outstanding balance, status, follow-up date, notes, etc.
