Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs using evidence-based tools and methods. Develop and implement individualized support plans that address mental health, behavioral challenges, and special education requirements. Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, families, child protective services, and community agencies to coordinate student support services. Provide crisis intervention during emergencies or behavioral incidents to ensure student safety and well-being. Facilitate group counseling sessions focused on social skills, conflict management, cultural diversity counseling, and emotional regulation. Support students with disabilities by integrating behavioral health strategies within Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks. Maintain detailed documentation of interventions, progress notes, incident reports, and compliance records in accordance with educational regulations. Requirements Valid licensure as a School Social Worker or certification as a School Counselor from an accredited agency or state authority. Proven experience working with children in school settings, including special education environments. Strong knowledge of child protective services protocols, child welfare laws, and crisis management procedures. Expertise in crisis intervention techniques and behavioral health strategies tailored for school-aged children. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and implement culturally responsive counseling practices. Familiarity with Childcare regulations, mental health care standards, and educational compliance requirements. Excellent collaboration skills for working with families, teachers, administrators, mental health professionals, and external agencies.
