Job Description

About Bricks'N'Blocks Bricks'N'Blocks is a Stem accredited enrichment company that provides fun, hands-on LEGO®-based enrichment programs for children. Our sessions help children develop creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, confidence, and fine motor skills through structured building challenges, games, and themed activities. We are looking for reliable, energetic, and patient coaches who enjoy working with children and can lead fun, organized LEGO® sessions in a professional way. Job Overview The Bricks'N'Blocks Coach will be responsible for delivering engaging LEGO® enrichment sessions for children in schools, camps, parties, and community settings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with kids, can manage a group confidently, and understands that structure and fun must work together. This is not just "playing with LEGO®." The coach is responsible for creating a positive, safe, and organized learning environment where every child feels included and encouraged. Main ResponsibilitiesProgram Delivery Lead LEGO®-based classes, camps, parties, and enrichment sessions. Set up and pack away LEGO® materials and equipment before and after sessions. Follow Bricks'N'Blocks lesson plans, themes, and activity structures. Explain building challenges clearly and in an age-appropriate way. Keep children engaged, focused, and excited throughout the session. Adapt activities when needed based on age, ability, or group size. Child Supervision & Safety Maintain a safe and positive environment at all times. Supervise children during all activities. Use calm, clear, and respectful behavior management. Make sure all children are included and treated fairly. Report any concerns, incidents, injuries, or behavior issues to management. Group Management Manage small to medium-sized groups of children. Keep sessions structured, organized, and on schedule. Encourage teamwork, sharing, communication, and problem-solving. Help children who are struggling without taking over their work. Create a balance between creativity and classroom control. Customer & School Communication Represent Bricks'N'Blocks professionally when working with schools, parents, and venues. Greet children and parents in a friendly and professional manner. Communicate basic session updates when appropriate. Escalate parent or school concerns to management rather than handling serious issues alone. Equipment & Materials Keep LEGO® materials organized, clean, and accounted for. Report missing, damaged, or low-supply materials. Help transport equipment when required. Make sure the program space is left clean and tidy. Required Skills & Qualities The right person must be: Reliable and punctual. Confident working with children. Patient, calm, and positive. Energetic without being chaotic. Able to lead a group and give clear instructions. Organized and able to follow a session plan. Comfortable managing behavior in a respectful way. Professional when speaking with parents, schools, and team members. Able to pass a background check. Preferred Experience Preferred but not required: Experience working with children ages 2-12. Experience in camps, after-school programs, tutoring, coaching, teaching, childcare, or enrichment programs. Interest in LEGO®, STEM, creativity, design, engineering, or hands-on learning. CPR/First Aid certification. Experience leading group activities. Minimum Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to pass a background check. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to lift and carry program materials when needed. Must be available for part-time shifts based on program needs. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into a room full of children and quickly create structure, excitement, and trust. We do not need someone who just likes LEGO®. We need someone who can lead children properly. A good Bricks'N'Blocks coach understands that children need clear expectations, encouragement, and fun. You should be able to keep the session moving, help children feel successful, and make sure the program runs smoothly from start to finish. Example Duties During a Session Arrive early and set up the activity area. Welcome children and explain the theme or challenge. Lead a short introduction or demonstration. Guide children through the building activity. Support children who need help. Encourage creativity and teamwork. Manage behavior calmly and professionally. End the session with sharing, celebration, or cleanup. Pack away materials and leave the space clean.
