Job Description

Salary Wage:
$17.30 per hour Position Sum m ary: This position will work with families that are currently involved with Family Support Services. They will work to provide community resources, assist with mindshare referrals for formal service provision. They will provide education and peer support that addresses proper nutrition, hygiene, discipline, protection, instruction and supervision, teach parenting skill development, provide assistance in locating appropriate community resources, child care etc. This position should possess skills and attitudes toward child rearing that are flexible enough to adapt to various situations based upon each family's differences, problems, and needs. This position will work a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of families, which could include weekends and nights as needed. Techni c al/Functional Ex p ect a tion s : 1. Crisis I n terventi on s-Esse n ti a l Fu n ctio n : Provide crisis intervention linkages, referrals through consultation to ensure family support and placement stabilization in order to follow-up with emergency FTC for continued authorization. 2. Flexi b le a n d 3rd P a rty Resources-Esse n ti a l Fu n cti o n: Authorize service allocation, coordinate service delivery with providers and community resources in order to maximize service quality. 3. S tren g th & C u lt u r a l Disc o very-Esse n ti a l Fu n cti o n: Conducts Strength & Cultural discovery to help family identify strengths and potential natural supports as well as to identify immediate needs and and best resources to address these. 4. S tren g th Based A d v o c a cy-Esse n ti a l F un ction: This position will work with and support the family and help them advocate for their needs and serve as an advocate for them. 5. Provi d e e d u c a t ion a n d Peer S u pp o rt-E s sent i al: This position will work with the family in the areas of nutrition, parenting, budgeting, housing, and maintaining a safe and appropriate home. 6. Busin e ss E x perienc e : 1. Micro s oft office & SACWIS C o mputer E x pe r ience: This position will be responsible for entering information into FSFN and Mindshare and utilizing basic Microsoft office software. 2. Valid Driver's License & A p p r opriate insu ra nce- E ssentia l : This position requires a valid drivers license and appropriate insurance in accordance with Florida Statute for transporting children. 3. 2+ yea r s Direct Services E x p e rience-E s sent i a l: This position will be providing direct services to children, youth or their families in their home and other locations as determined. 4. S u p er i o r verbal a n d written c o mm un ic a ti o n skills: This position must effectively communicate verbally and in writing in order to address complex needs and safety concerns in a strength-based approach. 5. This is required in order to successfully advocate for families and to provide assistance with resource linkages. Educatio n al and Experi e nce R e quir e me n t s : 1. High School Diploma required. 2. 2 to 5 years related experience required. 3. Knowledge of early childhood development preferred.
