Job Description
The Family Resource Center of Gordon County is dedicated to helping families achieve parental resilience, social connections, concrete support in times of need, knowledge of parenting and child development, and social and emotional competence of children. A certified parent educator implements the Parents as Teachers model, emphasizing parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being in their work with families. Utilizing the Parents as Teachers Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, the parent educator partners, facilitates, and reflects with families. This is accomplished by providing education through personal visits, group meetings, screening, and linkages to a network of resources for parents and children.
