$33/hr ($69K) About the Position Focus People is seeking a compassionate and highly organized SAVES Navigator to support individuals and families impacted by domestic violence as they navigate child support services and related community resources. The SAVES Navigator will provide trauma-informed support, case coordination, resource referrals, and ongoing communication for participants enrolled in the SAVES program. This position works closely with child support staff, Family Justice Center team members, domestic violence advocacy organizations, courts, healthcare providers, and other community partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in social services, case management, victim advocacy, behavioral health, or a related field and will be comfortable working with individuals experiencing sensitive and potentially high-stress situations. Key Responsibilities Provide supportive case management for domestic violence survivors participating in the SAVES program. Assist participants in navigating child support processes while addressing potential safety concerns and barriers to services. Communicate with participants by phone, email, and in person to provide information, resources, referrals, and ongoing support. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding participant and case information. Monitor cases involving family violence indicators and follow established safety protocols. Maintain case documentation, tracking information, and review schedules according to program policies. Connect participants with community resources, including: Domestic violence shelters and survivor support programs Medical and mental health services Substance-use treatment resources Employment and job-training programs Food and public assistance programs SSI and SSDI resources Childcare and transportation assistance Housing resources Temporary protective orders and restraining-order resources Legal assistance Develop and maintain a current directory of local, regional, and statewide domestic violence and community resources. Build relationships with shelters, nonprofit organizations, legal aid providers, court services, healthcare facilities, and other community organizations. Collaborate with hospitals and birth facilities to strengthen connections to domestic violence resources and services. Participate in community and professional meetings, including Family Violence Task Force meetings, Family Justice Center committees, support groups, training calls, and other SAVES-related events. Attend court proceedings when appropriate to help participants access information and community resources. Collaborate with child support, legal, judicial, and community organizations to strengthen services available to families. Manage a specialized SAVES caseload and help ensure participants receive services in a timely and equitable manner. Participate in the Georgia Commission on Family Violence Train-the-Trainer initiative and provide SAVES-related training to staff as needed. Promote awareness of the SAVES program throughout the community. Perform additional professional duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred. At least 1 year of experience in social services, case management, victim advocacy, domestic violence services, crisis intervention, or a related field preferred. Understanding of trauma-informed care, client-centered services, crisis intervention, and community-based support. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with compassion, empathy, professionalism, and discretion. Comfortable working with individuals experiencing domestic violence, family conflict, or other sensitive circumstances. Strong organizational and case documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, meetings, and community partnerships. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Comfortable interacting with courts, government agencies, healthcare organizations, nonprofit organizations, and community service providers. Additional Requirements Ability to attend community meetings, court proceedings, and off-site events as required. Local and regional travel may be required. Position may require approximately one out-of-state trip per year for grant-related meetings or training. Must be able to complete required SAVES and trauma-informed training.
