Job Description

Overview The Davis Academy, an independent Kindergarten Prep - Eighth Grade school in Dunwoody/Sandy Springs seeks an experienced part-time extended day associate. This position is responsible for assisting with the daily functions of our extended day program (after school care for students). Applicants must have a high school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of childcare experience. Essential Functions Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging after-school environment. Support and participate in age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, including enrichment projects, games, and quiet learning time. Assist students with homework and encourage positive peer interactions. Distribute materials and supplies for daily activities; help maintain a clean and welcoming EDP space. Provide students with snacks and assist with cleanup. Support smooth and safe daily dismissal procedures. Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff. Be flexible and ready to support other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to positively manage and supervise children in a group setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to follow routines while adapting to the day's needs. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school and student matters. Comfortable leading activities and stepping into different roles as needed. Physical Requirement and Work Environment Must be able to actively supervise children both indoors and outdoors. Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the program space. Regular interaction with children, staff, and families is essential.
