Company Overview Y.O.U.R., Inc. Head Start is dedicated to fostering the healthy development of children from birth to age five and supporting their families through comprehensive early childhood programs. Our services focus on child development, family engagement, and connecting families with vital community resources to promote long-term success. Overview We are seeking a passionate and proactive Family Engagement Specialist to join our team! In this vital role, you will build trusting relationships with families, provide guidance on child and family services, and support high-risk populations through culturally sensitive outreach. Your energetic approach will help empower families, promote safety, and ensure children receive the nurturing environment they deserve. Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Human Services or related field preferred, or an AA with two years experience working with families with limited incomes. An RN can also be accepted. Family Development Specialist Cert. and/or knowledge of early childhood development a plus. Satisfactory Background Check & Physical Duties Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, ensuring open communication and trust. Assist families in accessing community resources related to child welfare, behavioral health, and family law. Conduct home visits to build relationships with families while ensuring children are hitting developmental milestones and building school readiness skills. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support during urgent situations involving children or families. Educate parents on child protective services, child development, childcare practices, and family law matters. Collaborate with social service agencies to coordinate services that meet individual family needs. Document interactions thoroughly using Microsoft Office tools, including detailed reports on family engagement activities.
Requirements:
Proven experience working with children and families in social services or child welfare settings. Knowledge of child protective services, child & family services, behavioral health, and crisis intervention techniques. Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities. Bilingual abilities are highly preferred to serve culturally diverse populations effectively. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Ability to manage conflict calmly and professionally. $35,200.00 - $48,200.00 per year
