10:30 AM to 2:30
PM Pay:
$17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 hours per week Overview We are seeking a dedicated School Cafeteria Worker to join our team in a part-time capacity. This role is essential in providing nutritious, safe, and appealing meals to students while maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the school community by supporting healthy eating habits and creating a welcoming atmosphere for students and staff alike. Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines and safety procedures Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, microwaves, and food warmers efficiently and safely Maintain cleanliness of the cafeteria area, including tables, floors, and food preparation surfaces Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations Handle manual tasks such as weighing ingredients, portioning food, and processing cash transactions accurately Assist with inventory management by receiving deliveries and organizing supplies Provide friendly, in-person customer service to students and staff during meal times Support food handling protocols to ensure proper hygiene and safety standards are upheld Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafeteria operations throughout the school day Qualifications Previous experience in food service, catering, or hospitality environments preferred Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Basic math skills for cash handling and portioning tasks Experience with POS systems or processing cash transactions is advantageous Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on in-person interactions Physical ability to handle weight in the workplace, including lifting supplies or food items Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and teamwork orientation Candidates with culinary experience or background in fine dining, restaurant service, or dietary aide roles are encouraged to apply.
