Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a positive difference in high school students' lives by supporting their social, emotional, and academic well-being in a contract school-based social worker assignment. This position is located near Aurora, IL, serving as a crucial support for students and staff during a leave coverage period.
Key Qualifications:
Active PEL (Professional Educator License) required Previous experience as a social worker in a school setting strongly preferred Proven ability to connect and communicate effectively with high school students Understanding of adolescent development and challenges faced by high school populations Strong skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support services to high school students Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify student needs and offer proactive interventions Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address issues such as attendance, peer relationships, family challenges, or academic stress Develop and implement strategies to promote positive school climate and student well-being Participate in student support team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans when needed Document interventions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with all school and district protocols
Details:
