Job Description

Make a positive impact as a dedicated school-based social worker in a supportive educational setting near Chicago Heights, IL. This contract role provides the opportunity to work closely with students, families, and staff to foster emotional well-being and academic success. Key Qualifications:
Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent. Valid Illinois State Board of Education-issued Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement. Experience with EasyIEP or similar IEP software preferred. Previous experience working in educational environments or with school-aged children is highly desirable. Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide onsite social work services to a caseload of 21 IEP students and 1 weekly 504 student, supporting their social, emotional, and academic needs. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions and provide crisis intervention as needed. Collaborate with educators, families, and administrators to develop and implement IEPs. Complete documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings in compliance with district and state requirements. Maintain accurate and confidential records using EasyIEP. Serve as a resource for students and families, connecting them with community services, and offering guidance related to behavioral and emotional challenges. This part-time schedule (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 19.5 hours per week) allows for flexibility and work-life balance.
