Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Job Description

The Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic schools serve more than 40,000 students in 154 elementary and high schools in Cook and Lake counties. It is one of the largest private school systems in the United States. Its schools have received 96 Blue Ribbon awards from the U.S. Department of Education over the past 10 years. We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Extended Care Teacher to join our school community immediately. This part-time position works Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM on school days, with employment continuing through early June 2027.
Responsibilities:
Assist in a preschool classroom during the afternoon Transition to the Extended Care Program serving students in Kindergarten through 7th grade Provide active supervision to ensure student safety and well-being Lead structured play, games, and enrichment activities Assist students with homework and academic support Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing environment Support daily program operations and clean-up
Qualifications:

This position has an hourly range of $18.00 - $20.00. An employee's pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
