Key Qualifications:

Valid Illinois School Social Worker (IL SSW) license and Professional Educator License (PEL) are required Previous experience serving as a school social worker is necessary Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and child development Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and external partners

Core Responsibilities:

Provide direct counseling and social-emotional support to students in grades K-5 Address behavioral, emotional, and academic needs through individual and group interventions Develop and implement individualized plans and positive behavioral supports Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to promote student success Participate in IEP meetings and assist with special education evaluations, as needed Facilitate referrals to community agencies and resources Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school climate
