Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a significant impact supporting students in their growth and well-being as a dedicated school social worker for an elementary setting. This contract position is seeking a compassionate and motivated professional to provide vital social-emotional support and behavioral interventions to students in grades K-5. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through November 4th, 2026, with the possibility of extension for those wanting to continue their work in the school setting. This role is located in the Sugar Grove area, with hours from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, full time and onsite only.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license and Professional Educator License (PEL) Demonstrated experience working in a school environment, preferably with elementary-aged students Strong communication skills, with an ability to collaborate positively with teachers, administrators, families, and students Skilled in delivering evidence-based interventions and support for various student needs
Responsibilities:
Provide direct social work services to K-5 students on your assigned caseload Collaborate with educational staff to design and implement effective behavior management plans Support students' mental health, address social or emotional concerns, and assist with crisis intervention as needed Facilitate small groups and individual sessions to promote positive social skills and academic achievement Participate actively in IEP meetings, maintain organized documentation, and assist in creating a supportive learning environment This is a meaningful opportunity to work in a welcoming school community and enrich the educational journey of elementary school students.
