Illinois Valley is looking to hire a Home Visitor for their Head Start Program. This full-time position will be based out of our Jerseyville Head Start center.

Essential Functions:

Conduct weekly home visits Plan/arrange group socialization activities Conduct/document developmental screenings and assessments Maintain proper documentation and prepare/submit reports Provide advocacy and coordination services for children/families Work with Head Start coordinators to facilitate completion and collection of necessary health requirements and plan/carry out parent committee meetings/trainings Assist with recruitment and enrollment Periodically transfer children and parents Attend all staff meetings and trainings Maintain confidentiality Demonstrate competency to plan/implement home-based learning experiences Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must hold an age appropriate Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or be enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate or Bachelor's Degree, OR be enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within two years of hire, and must have appropriate competencies. Possess "Parents as Teachers" credential or be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire. Prior training and experience in comprehensive child development programs is desirable. Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and carry adequate vehicle insurance. Reliable means of transportation and an interest in a position requiring substantial local travel. May be required to obtain an Illinois School Bus Driver's Permit. Maintain certifications as required.
