Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into an impactful contract opportunity where your expertise as a School Social Worker will make a difference in the lives of young students. This role, based within a day therapeutic program, offers a chance to collaborate closely with dedicated educators while providing crucial support for children in specialized classes. You'll take on a meaningful caseload of three classes: two focused on elementary students with emotional disabilities (ED) and one serving those on the autism spectrum. Your day will run from 8:15am to 3:15pm, with a half-hour lunch break to recharge. The position begins as soon as possible and continues through May 22, 2026, with the potential for renewal for the following academic year.
Desired Qualifications:
Current licensure or certification as a School Social Worker Experience supporting students with emotional disabilities and/or autism preferred Understanding of IEP processes and collaborative student planning Strong communication skills for working with students, staff, and families Ability to develop individualized intervention strategies Flexible, resilient approach for navigating diverse caseloads
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to elementary students in two ED classes and one autism class Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support student success and well-being Participate in assessment, development, and review of IEPs, ensuring compliance and best practices Implement evidence-based interventions aligned with student needs Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and therapeutic learning environment for all students Monitor progress and adapt interventions as needed Experience professional growth and the fulfillment of guiding students toward greater social and emotional growth.
