Summary of Position:
The position of Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for supervising and developing our ministry with kids in birth through K. This must be done in alignment with the mission and vision of Mount Pleasant Christian Church by helping the church Reach families, Raise disciples, and Release people to live on mission—while Sustaining the ministry through excellent stewardship of people, systems, and resources. This position has a high emphasis on relationships—to volunteer leaders, parents/families, and kids. 02.
Duties:
Reach Build connections with early childhood families while creating a safe and welcoming environment where not yet believers and followers of Jesus can experience the love of God. Create catalytic, effective, and age-appropriate environments for both large and small group gatherings. Be visible and available during weekend services. Have a positive and friendly attitude with volunteers, parents, and kids. Raise Raise volunteer teams and leaders through Leadership Pipeline best practices to support the early childhood ministry. Recruit volunteers/leaders for clearly defined roles and responsibilities. Weekly schedule building and assurance that all volunteer roles are filled on a weekly basis. Release Attend ministry training and meetings as necessary. Sustain Strengthen the long-term health of the ministry through excellent stewardship of people, systems, communication, and resources. Utilize and maintain current and future church-wide and ministry-specific technology systems that benefit the early childhood ministry. Ensure safety and security policies and procedures are up-to-date and followed by volunteers and leaders. Maintain healthy systems for the early childhood ministry volunteer onboarding, communication, scheduling, and follow-up, so ministry is scalable and sustainable. Ensure all rooms, linens, cups, and toys are cleaned and sanitized each week. Collaborate with your supervisor to steward a sustainable budget that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of MPCC. Fulfill additional responsibilities/duties as directed by supervisor.

Preferred Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree. Two years of previous related experience. Previous teaching or leading volunteers/peers.
Staff Expectations:
Solid understanding of Scripture. Faithful in weekend worship. Involvement in ministry outside of specific ministry area. Practice Christian stewardship through the giving of regular tithes and offerings. Practice a lifestyle witness. Be willing to assist with and perform responsibilities outside of your ministry area as needed. Always display a willingness to help church members and guests when asked or in critical times.
