Job Description

Role Overview Launch Pad Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to serve as our Van Driver & After-School Coordinator . This dual role is critical to ensuring the safe transportation of our school-age children between local schools and our center, as well as managing the transition into afternoon activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation & Safety Protocols The primary responsibility is the safe transit of children, adhering to a strict verification process to ensure 100% accountability at all times.
Checklist Management:
Utilize the official van checklist for every run to track child movement.
Boarding Procedures:
Highlight names of children immediately upon boarding the van.
School Drop-off:
Place a check mark next to each child's name as they disembark and are received by authorized school staff.
Center Arrival:
Upon arriving back at the center, confirm all children have exited by marking off names while they stand by the van.
Parking Lot Pick-ups:
If a parent assumes care in the parking lot, strike through the child's name immediately.
Indoor Escort:
Escort all remaining children inside the building to their designated classroom.
Coordination & Communication Classroom Hand-off:
Verbally confirm each child's identity to receiving staff to ensure accurate recording on rosters and in the Procare system.
Final Verification:
Strike through the child's name on the transport checklist only after the successful transfer to classroom staff is complete.
Parent Interaction:
Maintain professional and positive communication with parents during pick-up or drop-off transitions. After-School Program Support Implement the center's philosophy of positive guidance , focusing on mutual respect and redirection. Support school-age children with homework, snacks, and planned activities. Monitor safety and behavior, utilizing tools like quiet "safe spots" or breathing exercises when children are processing big emotions. Location 216 N Main St, Goddard, KS 67052 Hours Afternoon shifts (approx. 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm), with possible morning or summer runs Driver Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Experience Previous experience in childcare or school-age supervision required Documentation Must sign and adhere to the "Van Responsibilities" protocol Skills & Qualifications Attention to

Must be exceptionally diligent with rosters and checklists to ensure child safety.
Patience:
Committed to working with children using positive reinforcement rather than punitive measures.
Reliability:
Punctuality is essential for school pick-up and drop-off schedules.
Technology:
Ability to use or learn the Procare app for attendance tracking.
