Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelors or Masters degree in a human services-related field is requiredPrevious experience working with children and family services is preferred

Licensure & Certifications:

Valid drivers licenseProof of valid auto insuranceMust be at least 21 years of ageLicensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an understanding of families lived experiences, including factors such as trauma, poverty, developmental stages, gender, race, ethnicity, and languageEstablish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, caregivers, placement providers, the Department for Children and Families (DCF), colleagues, and other community partnersCommunicate relevant and appropriate information with families and professionals in a timely mannerProvide in-home and community-based services including:

Observation of caregiver-child interactionsMaintenance and development of family and community connectionsResource coordinationOn-call crisis intervention and safety planningLife skills trainingTransportation of clientsAdministration of drug screeningsAdvocate for clients based on comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations.

Advocacy efforts may include:

Providing testimony in courtAttending school and service coordination meetingsFacilitating access to mental health and other support servicesComplete thorough and timely documentation, including:

Case notes and logsComprehensive assessmentsCourt reports and social histories.
