Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth and Family Coordinator will be responsible for direct service Kids Corner, Parent's Night Out (PNO), sports skills classes, Safe Sitter Certification classes, family events, and other youth engagement programs. The coordinator will direct and supervise youth program activities to meet the needs of the community and the YMCA objectives of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Youth and Family Coordinator will be required to work evening and weekend hours based on program schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide direct program coverage for Kids Corner, Parent's Night Out (PNO), sports skills classes, Safe Sitter Certification classes, family events, and other youth engagement programs. Ensure quality program delivery, participant safety, and adherence to YMCA policies and procedures. Serve as the lead staff member during assigned program hours and assist with participant and parent engagement. Manage and maintain the Kids Corner staff schedule. Assist Director with staff onboarding, training and evaluations. Identify and fill staffing gaps as needed to ensure adequate coverage. Communicate scheduling concerns, attendance issues, and staffing needs to the Youth & Family Engagement Director. Assist the Director in preparation and implementation of monthly curriculum for Kids Corner. Assist the Director with preparation and organization of monthly Parent's Night Out . Assist the Director to provide on-site supervision and direct program leadership during PNO. Assist the Director with setup, breakdown, and program coverage for sports skills classes. Assist with planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of youth and family events. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Support branch membership and engagement initiatives when needed. Build positive relationships with youth, families, volunteers, and staff. Uphold YMCA mission, values, and risk management standards. Perform other duties as assigned by the Youth & Family Engagement Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED At least 1 year of youth activity experience in a camp or recreation setting Strong ability in using MS Office Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Good organizational and time management skills Must be available to work evening and weekends to support youth and family activities Ability to demonstrate strong initiative, creativity, flexibility, and be able to operate and promote an environment that supports the YMCA's mission and its four core values.
