Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated School Cafeteria Worker to join our educational institution's food service team. Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu specifications. Maintain strict adherence to food safety management protocols, including sanitizing surfaces and proper food handling procedures. Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for meal transactions and manage weight handling in the workplace accurately. Assist with food preparation tasks such as portioning, assembling meals, and ensuring presentation standards are met. Follow manual handling procedures to ensure safety during the movement of supplies, food items, and equipment. Clean and sanitize all kitchen and dining areas regularly, complying with health regulations. Support catering or banquet events as needed, including setup, serving, and cleanup. Provide excellent customer service by greeting students and staff courteously, addressing inquiries professionally. Handle cash register operations accurately and efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafeteria operations during peak times. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience in food service environments such as school cafeterias, restaurants, catering, or hospitality settings. Specific experience that is beneficial includes: Food industry experience with a focus on food handling and safety protocols. Food safety sanitizing procedures knowledge to uphold hygiene standards. Experience with POS systems for transaction processing. Culinary or food preparation background within a fast-paced environment. Banquet or catering experience demonstrating ability to manage large-scale meal service. Customer service skills developed through roles in hospitality or retail settings. Familiarity with manual handling techniques for safe movement of supplies. Barista experience or fine dining exposure is advantageous but not mandatory.
