Mental Health Consultant Description Supporting Strong Foundations in Early Childhood We are seeking dedicated, mission-driven Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants to support educators, young children, and families across the Western region of Massachusetts. You will partner directly with early education programs and families to create supportive environments where every child can thrive. Part-time positions are open in Berkshire County (1), Western Worcester County (1), and Hampshire/Franklin Counties (1).

What You Will Do Provide Onsite Consultation:

Conduct classroom observations, co-create behavioral success plans, and partner directly with educators to meet children?s social-emotional needs using research-based practices.

Support Families:

Deliver confidential home, virtual, or community-based family visits to guide positive behavior strategies, strengthen stability, and connect parents with vital resources.

Deliver Crisis Intervention:

Provide immediate, grounded support in licensed early education settings during challenging situations to stabilize classrooms and prevent suspensions or expulsions.

Facilitate Professional Development:

Design and lead interactive workshops that help early childhood educators integrate trauma-informed practices and new skills into their daily work.

Connect Community Resources:

Serve as a parenting resource specialist, facilitate referrals for specialized evaluations or mental health care, and build strong cross-agency networks for families. Qualifications What We\'re Looking For We need compassionate, strengths-based professionals who thrive when collaborating with educators, parents, and community partners. You should bring deep expertise in early childhood development, strong communication skills, and a dedication to helping hard-to-reach or at-risk families access the support they need.

Degree:

Master?s-level degree in Early Childhood Mental Health, Early Childhood Development, Education, or a closely related field.

Licensure:

Valid driver?s license and access to a reliable vehicle for regional travel.

Expertise:

Strong problem-solving abilities, skilled in strengths-based approaches, child observation, behavioral success planning, and adult learning facilitation. Experience (Highly Preferred): Hands-on experience working directly with young children and families, conducting family outreach, and navigating community mental health resources.

Preferred Experience:

Current licensure or certification as an LICSW with early childhood experience, alongside background delivering workshops or training to adult learners.

Terms of Employment Schedule:

Part-time (depending on communities served). Includes occasional evening meetings or workshops. Berkshire County (25 hours/week) Worcester County - Western Corridor (18 hours/week) Hampshire and Franklin Counties (18 hours/week

Salary Range:

\$27.00 ? \$30.00 per hour.
