Membership Assistant
REPORTS TO
Family Engagement and Membership Coordinator After School Schedule:
Monday 1:15pm-6:15pm, optional monthly 10:30am team meeting Tuesday-Friday 1:15pm-7:15pm
Full Day Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:45am-4:15pm on days Waltham Public Schools is closed
STATUS :
Part-time SALARY :
$15-$21 Bilingual pay increase hourly
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Front Desk Assistants serve as the primary representatives of the Club. Their principal responsibility is to deliver exceptional customer service to members, parents, staff, and visitors. Administrative duties will be assigned daily in addition to the routine desk protocol. Ensuring the safety of members and acting as a reliable source of information are essential aspects of this position.
KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities):
Primary Function:
The Membership Assistant's primary function is to lead the safety and supervision of the Lobby and foster a welcoming environment. Stationed at the Front Desk, this role greets all those who enter the facilities and monitors the main exit while tracking youth's attendance. The Membership Assistant works directly with the Membership Coordinator for administrative support.
Responsibilities:
Youth Development Role model self regulation and how to effectively communicate feelings and needs Demonstrate conflict resolution skills, empathy, and patience Moderately supervises youth Maintain high energy and enthusiasm Ability to maintain calm and organized in stressful situations Support High School intern working with the membership team Safety Comply with confidentiality policy and procedures for youth records Maintain attendances and logs of those who enter the facilities Follow safety procedures for dismissing youth and the appropriate adult is signing them out Be certified or willing to complete certification in First Aid & CPR Adhere to emergency and evacuation procedures Administrative Filing documents and inputting data to digital databases Processing card, cash, and check payments Answering phone calls and directing calls to the appropriate extensions Answering a wide range of inquiries and connecting community members to the appropriate staff Maintaining the cleanliness and presentability of the Lobby

Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s) Attend staff meetings and trainings Drive van(s) as needed if eligible
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Deemed suitable for a background check (CORI, SORI and DCF) with Boys & Girls Club of America and the Early Education & Care Department of Massachusetts (EEC) 18 years old or older Obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR, AED, Inhaler and Epinephrine Administrate certification Experience working with a diverse group of youth and families Flexible schedule for occasional events like fundraisers and 8am-4pm childcare on non-school days Proficient in use of computers and Google Suite Ideally, multi-lingual, English required with either Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole Offer contingent upon successful CORI, SORI, and DCF background record check.
