Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class and small group academic support to students in partner public schools Build positive, mentoring relationships that encourage student engagement and social-emotional growth Track and report student progress, using data to inform daily support activities Collaborate with teachers and school staff to plan and deliver interventions Participate in training, coaching, and team meetings to build skills and reflect on practice Support school-wide events, attendance initiatives, and family engagement activities Uphold City Year's values of equity, inclusion, and service in all interactions Student support strategies Classroom management Tutoring in math and ELA Data entry and progress tracking Behavioral intervention techniques Mentoring and coaching youth Communication with teachers and staff Community outreach and family engagement Time management Basic computer skills (Google/Microsoft) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility for AmeriCorps service (including citizenship/permanent residency requirements) Ability to pass required background checks for work in schools Completion of City Year and AmeriCorps pre-service training CPR/First Aid certification may be required or preferred by some school partners
