General Summary:
Responsible for the management and supervision of the social work department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To foster the mission of St. Louis Center, a faith-based organization, in proclaiming the Gospel through the service of charity. Complete and review documentation done in the social work department. Manage department staff (i.e.: training, scheduling, evaluation, disciplinary actions, etc.). Assign caseloads and reviewing case activity to ensure residents are receiving proper care. May be required to maintain a caseload. Facilitate clinical review. Oversee all admissions and discharges to the program. Manage all activities associated with the Center's CARF accreditation. Facilitate all State Licensing and County Contract audits. Coordinate all State and County investigations. Coordinate activities with other departments. Facilitate staff meetings (i.e.: briefing with DCW staff, Licensing and MDHHS rules changes with staff, etc). Represent the department at administrative meetings. Collaborate with workers from community agencies.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer literate, able to maintain an EMR system. Ability to pass a drug test and physical Valid Driver's License with good driving record, able to operate a passenger van. Strong organizational, writing and advocacy skills. Ability to supervise staff. Collaborate within a multi disciplinary team. Knowledge regarding licensing and regulations for consumers that are served.
Education and Experience:
Licensed Masters Social Worker with two years' experience preferred. A bachelor's degree with a major in education, human behavioral sciences, social work, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or university and 4 years of post graduate experience in a child caring institution or child placing agency or equivalent organization. Strong leadership, communications and problem-solving skills. Capacity to create a sage and supportive work environment that promotes professional development. Knowledge of social work principles, techniques and assessment tools. Minimum of 3-5 experience in a professional setting, preferably with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Ability to pass a drug test and physical.
Working Conditions:
Residential care living environment, client behavior may change drastically, causing at times a hazardous work environment. Required to have dependable attendance. •This is an on-site only position.•
