Administration Building Our mission, at Branch ISD, is to ensure life-long learning opportunities to students and citizens in our constituent districts. We will provide leadership in cooperation with other local, regional, and state educational service agencies, as well as the private sector, to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of high quality programs and services. The role of the McKinney-Vento Resource Outreach Navigator supports the regional coordination of resources within the community service agencies and within the LEA districts. The McKinney-Vento Resource Outreach Navigator will provide students and families the support and assistance in reducing educational barriers. This is a part time, school year position working 10 to 15 hours per week. Education and/or certification Bachelor's Degree in Education Master's degree in a Social services related field preferred Experience 5 or more years' professional experience working with at-risk populations Job Duties The McKinney-Vento Resource Outreach Navigator will be knowledgeable of MV law and guidance, the role of the MV liaisons in the LEAs, the needs and challenges experienced by those experiencing homelessness, and cross-agency collaboration. Working collaboratively with the MV Regional Coordinator and local school district liaisons to support students and families experiencing homelessness. Researching and collaborating with non-education partners to provide resources for families experiencing homelessness. Increasing the identification of and outreach to children and families experiencing homelessness. Assisting liaisons in reducing educational barriers such as academic achievement and absences of students experiencing homelessness. Assisting in coordinating services for unaccompanied homeless youth, such as social services, mental health, medical healthcare, and housing needs. Supporting LEA homeless liaisons with planning, promoting and implementing parent and family engagement in education among families experiencing homelessness. Supporting district liaisons in providing awareness of McKinney-Vento program and the impact of homelessness in communities. Understanding the process of Dispute Resolution. Understanding the school district transportation responsibilities within McKinney-Vento ACT and supporting liaisons in the process. Assisting in collecting reporting and analyzing data to support local, regional and state data needs including completion of the End of Year Report. Perform other duties as assigned.
