Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Advance your career as a dedicated school social worker or counselor in a contract position serving K-12 students through a Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. In this impactful role, you will support general education environments by collaborating with school staff to design, recommend, and monitor intervention strategies that foster student wellness and academic success. This assignment runs from mid-August to early June, offering 35 hours per week of meaningful, hands-on engagement.
Key Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited institution Current Michigan state licensure (LMSW or LPC). Limited Licenses (LLMSW/LLPC) considered, with the commitment to pursue full licensure Prior experience in a public school or similar educational setting preferred Strong experience with collaborative and multidisciplinary teams Comfortable working onsite to serve diverse student populations Ability to provide official university transcripts and current LARA license &
MDE SW Approval Key Responsibilities:
Guide staff in data collection and analysis to inform intervention planning and recommend new support strategies Develop and implement tiered MTSS interventions and manage cases for students and families needing comprehensive services Participate in MTSS meetings, support teams, and parent conferences, ensuring transparent communication and collaboration Track and manage student data, providing regular status reports to the MTSS Supervisor Deliver research-based intervention strategies and behavior management supports Maintain up-to-date documentation of student interactions and progress Coordinate and streamline services for families, ensuring each child receives tailored support Immerse yourself in a collaborative school community and play a vital role in shaping positive student outcomes during the upcoming academic year.
