Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a contract Social Worker this school year. Covering a maternity leave from early November through the end of December 2026, you'll work with young learners across two elementary schools. Your skill as a school-based social worker will help foster a caring, supportive environment for students and their families.
Key Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program Valid social work licensure for Michigan public schools Previous experience providing counseling and case management in school settings Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and staff Experience working with elementary caseloads preferred
Responsibilities:
Deliver social-emotional support and counseling to elementary students, both individually and in group settings Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop intervention strategies Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being and academic success Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed Provide referrals to community resources for students and families Document services, maintain case files, and comply with all district and state requirements This contract position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
