Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of K-12 students by supporting their growth and success as a School Social Worker/Counselor specializing in Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS). This contract position is located near Grand Blanc, MI, with potential assignments also in Lansing and Detroit, and spans the 2026-2027 academic year (August 17, 2026 - June 11, 2027). You'll work onsite for 35 hours per week within a collaborative and dedicated educational community.
Key Experience and Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited program Full state licensure in Michigan as LMSW or LPC (Limited licenses
LLMSW/LLPC
considered, with intent to obtain full licensure) Official university transcripts required MDE Social Work Approval and LARA license mandatory Prior experience in a public school setting or related agency preferred Background working with collaborative and interdisciplinary teams Comfortable working with K-12 caseloads and onsite service delivery
Responsibilities:
Assess, collect, and interpret data for student support, advising intervention strategies or modifications as needed Design, implement, and monitor tiered interventions, collaborating with general and special education staff Participate actively in MTSS meetings, student support teams, and parent conferences Provide research-driven intervention strategies and manage data documentation Coordinate with MTSS supervisors, track student outcomes, and maintain confidential student logs Support and engage families in the educational process to promote student achievement Deliver individual and group counseling and behavioral interventions to identified students Adhere to school district policies and procedures across assigned locations If you're passionate about making a positive impact in student lives and meet the qualifications, apply today to advance your career as a School Social Worker/Counselor.
