  • Grand Ledge Schools District Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Restorative Justice Facilitator to lead transformative conflict resolution sessions within our school community.
This is a school based position, which means you will start and end your day at your assigned school. In this role, you will facilitate conversations through restorative practices that promote healing, accountability, and repair. You will work with at-risk youth in a school who experience conflict and assist everyone involved to feel heard, respected, and empowered to make positive changes. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding individuals through processes that repair harm and strengthen relationships turning conflict into a learning opportunity. Duties Lead restorative justice sessions, circles,focus groups, classroom circles, re-entry and dialogues with diverse participants involved in conflicts or incidents at schools Work with coordinator to establish facilitation support at their assigned school and ensure proper referral systems are established to facilitate entire school community support. Develop tailored agreement plans that promote accountability, healing, and community safety Facilitate effective communication between parties, ensuring all voices are heard and understood Apply restorative practices framework and resolution techniques to resolve conflicts amicably Analyze situations thoroughly to determine appropriate restorative interventions and strategies Document session outcomes clearly and accurately through detailed writing skills Collaborate with school administration,teachers, support staff, PBIS team, MTSS teams, or other school based supports to implement restorative practices effectively Qualifications Proven experience in conflict management, or related facilitation roles Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to articulate ideas clearly and listen actively Demonstrated analysis skills for assessing complex situations and designing appropriate resolutions Familiarity with restorative justice principles Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, critical thinking, emotional awareness, emotional maturity Great interpersonal skills Prior experience working within community programs or educational settings is a plus Join us in creating safer, more connected communities by fostering understanding and reconciliation.
