Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth by providing essential school social work services onsite in an engaging educational environment. This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through May 14, 2027, working with approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and one preschool classroom. What you'll bring: Valid approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker Experience providing social work services in elementary or preschool settings A collaborative approach, working effectively with teachers, staff, and families Strong communication skills to interact with students, educators, and parents Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to changing needs within a school environment Key responsibilities include: Delivering direct social work interventions to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs Collaborating with educational teams to develop support plans and promote positive outcomes Participating in meetings regarding student progress and contributing subject matter expertise Providing crisis intervention, counseling, and resources to students and families as appropriate Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with policies and regulations Engaging with caregivers and staff to foster student success and well-being This full-time contract role offers 37.5 hours per week onsite, giving you an excellent opportunity to make lasting connections within a supportive school setting.
