Late October 2026 End of the 20262027 School Year Position Overview We are seeking a School Social Worker to provide maternity leave coverage across multiple school settings in Highland, Michigan. This full-time opportunity will support students across elementary and early childhood environments, with assignments changing throughout the school year. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with students with varying levels of need, collaborating with school teams, and providing support within general education settings. Assignment:

Late October 2026 Late January 2027 0.4 FTE at an Elementary School & 0.6 FTE at an Early Childhood Center 3 days per week supporting GSRP, private daycare, and approximately 1,755 students 2 days per week at Country Oaks Elementary Supports Tier 2 students and some students with IEPs within general education An SXI program is located at the building, but there is currently no known SSW-specific IEP caseload 2nd

April 2027 June 10, 2027 1.0 FTE at an Elementary School 5 days per week at Oxbow Elementary No categorical programs Supports some high-needs students Title I school serving a large population of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds Job Responsibilities Provide school-based social work services and student support Support students' social-emotional, behavioral, and academic needs Provide Tier 2 interventions and support Assist students with IEPs within general education settings Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Support students experiencing social, emotional, or environmental challenges Maintain appropriate documentation and student records Position Highlights Full-time maternity leave coverage Opportunity to work across elementary and early childhood settings Exposure to a variety of student populations and support needs Collaborative school-based environment Assignment transitions to a different elementary setting in the spring Compensation $55$60 per hour , based on experience and assignment details. Eligible candidates may also have access to benefits and travel assignment options , including stipends for qualifying temporary relocations. Requirements Valid Michigan School Social Worker Certification School-based experience preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school teams Interested in learning more?
