Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract role as a School Social Worker, providing valuable support to students during maternity leave coverage at an elementary school near Lincoln Park, MI. This opportunity offers two assignment options: a short-term need from September 8th to September 21st, or a three-month contract running from September 8th through December. You'll play a key role in fostering a positive environment for students, families, and school staff.
Key Qualifications:
Current and valid School Social Worker Certification (emergency or temporary licenses will not be considered) Previous experience in school settings is highly preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Compassionate approach to working with students and families from diverse backgrounds Ability to support students with a variety of emotional, behavioral, and social needs
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans Conduct assessments and participate in the creation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Serve as an advocate for students' well-being and help connect families to relevant community resources Support crisis intervention as needed and contribute to a positive school climate
