GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring high-quality services and outcomes for children, youth, and families served by the agency. This position supports all aspects of child and family services operations, including foster care and adoption services, resource and respite family recruitment, foster parent orientation and support, and child placement activities. Assigned staff may include Foster Care Case Managers, Adoption Specialists, Kinship Navigators, and Licensing Specialists. The Supervisor provides day-to-day oversight, leadership, guidance, consultation, and support to assigned staff while promoting best practices, accountability, and compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements. This position also serves as a liaison with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and community partners to support timely permanency planning and positive outcomes for children and families.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct regular individual supervision meetings and performance evaluations.
• Promote staff accountability and adherence to agency policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Support employee growth through professional development, training, and skill-building opportunities.
• Ensure staff complete required training and maintain professional competencies.
• Monitor case progress and service delivery to ensure quality outcomes and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Facilitate staff meetings, case consultations, and program coordination activities.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and revision of agency policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with DHHS, community agencies, service providers, and other stakeholders to promote successful permanency outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• MSW preferred or minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field from an accredited university or college, with the appropriate license for the degree Must have at least four years hands-on experience in foster care and/or adoption.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of child development, family systems, and child welfare practices.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic case management platforms
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and programs simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
• Commitment to serving children and families with professionalism, integrity and cultural sensitivity.

Pay:

$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
